Utah Outdoors Radio - On the Trail with Trail Master Outdoors - Tundra Swans

I went out Friday evening with Phil Douglas, the Northern Region Wildlife Outreach Coordinator, to the Harold Crane WMA area in Northern Utah and recorded a great segment for this weeks show on the migration of the Tundra Swans and what an experience we had. The song of the Tundra Swans is one if you have never heard, you need to get out now and see these magnificent birds. With an estimated almost 60,000 birds coming back to Utah due to the habit restoration efforts of many associations, the Utah Division of Wildlife and many hours of hard work after the devastation of their habitat during the floods during the 1980's of the Great Salt Lake. Those floods literally wiped out much of the habitat in the Great Salt Lake Eco-System, which had taken a serious affect of the numbers of swans we have had coming into Utah for many years, but due to the above mention efforts, the swans are back and almost even better then they have ever been. I invite you to join us and listen in on this great interview and get out to the many different locations along the Great Salt Lake marshes to enjoy these fantastic creatures.
Tune in now! The Swan Songs of the Tundra Swans!
